Dr. Charlene Morfoot, OD is a highly trained eye doctor specializing in the treatment of eye disease and peri-operative care.  She treats patients with glaucoma, retinal disease, and infectious and inflammatory eye disorders.  She also sees patients in consultation for cataract and laser vision correction surgery and is involved with their post-operative care.

 

Dr. Morfoot is an Illinois native who grew up in Mundelein, Illinois.  She completed her undergraduate degree in biological sciences at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, IL. She received her Doctorate of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois where she graduated with Honors.  She completed clinical rotations at specialty eye centers such as the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, IL, Mid Florida Eye Center in Mount Dora, FL, William V. Chappell, Jr. VA Clinic in Daytona Beach, FL and Davis Eye Associates in Winston-Salem, NC.  She also completed an additional year of residency training in Ocular Disease at Omni Eye Services in New Jersey where she gained further experience in treating patients with various eye disorders and post-operative patient care after cataract, laser vision correction and other eye surgeries. 

 

Dr. Morfoot is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association, American Optometric Association and American Academy of Optometry.  She has lectured at various national optometry conferences and continuing education meetings.  She also volunteers her time with the Special Olympics “Opening Eyes” program where she provides eye exams to athletes with special needs. 

 

Dr. Morfoot enjoys spending time with her family and lives with her husband and two dogs.  Her hobbies include cooking, jogging, shopping and computers.
